OUR PHILOSOPHY

At Bringelly Childcare Centre we believe that children, educators, families and the wider community are essential components that come together to provide an environment that creates a sense of being, belonging and becoming.

We respect children’s individual emergent skills by providing them with opportunities which allow for autonomous learning. We prepare welcoming, interesting and educational indoor and outdoor learning environments where children can freely explore their natural sense of wonder and choose their own work with enthusiasm and great interest. We believe the environment is an integral element which facilitates and supports the children's development in all areas, and allows them develop and succeed at their own pace.

Our centre provides a stimulating learning environment that allows children to have opportunities to a well-balanced play based emergent curriculum, as promoted through the National Quality Framework and inclusive of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). Our program is holistically based and is focused on the 5 EYLF outcomes, and is implemented through a range of planned and spontaneous experiences which is based on child observations, interests, family feedback and educator reflections. We endeavour to capture all children’s observations (through photos/videos/text) , milestones and interactions via a digital platform (OWNA) that is available for families to view daily and offer feedback and participation in our program, which reiterates our value in the importance of a home and school partnership. We believe that families are an integral part of our service, and we strive to develop a respectful and genuine relationship with each family to ensure the highest quality care and education for their child. Families are encouraged to be active participators in the centre on a day-to-day basis, and to share information about their child and their interests. Parents are also encouraged to share their knowledge, culture and interests with the children and educators. We pride ourselves on our positive relationships with families, where open, honest communication is exchanged both verbally and through written communication.

The educators at Bringelly Childcare Centre are passionate and dedicated individuals who bring a variety of qualifications, knowledge, experiences and cultures which are used within the service. They abide by the Code of Ethics and their Duty of Care on a daily basis and provide the children with individualised teaching strategies such as role modelling, supporting, facilitating, extending and praising. Trust and respect are vital components that the Educators use when communicating, and this is the foundation on which they build their teamwork on. The educators use a variety of methods to engage in professional learning through staff meetings, reflections / evaluations on programming and in services/workshops.

Bringelly Childcare Centre understands that it is part of a broader community. We strive to introduce and include opportunities for our children, families and educators to explore our community to further a sense of belonging. We have an active role in caring for our environment which contributes to a sustainable future by encouraging the children to reduce, reuse and recycle. Our aim is to provide a service to reflect the needs of the community, we will work alongside all stakeholders to ensure that our centre is of the highest quality care and education
